Use magazines and newspapers to create art!
Have any magazines or newspapers sitting around your home? Here’s a fun, easy activity for the family!
Materials: paper or cardboard, glue, scissors, magazines/newspaper (optional: paint, markers, or colored pencil)
Getting Started: Each person search for inspiration in the pages. Brainstorm your ideas. There are so many ways to go with this (you might make a collage, use a couple photos and draw/paint around them, use just words or words and photos...the ideas are limitless!)
*Creative tip: Remind your children that everyone might use the magazines and newspapers differently and that’s great!
When everyone is done, share your pieces with each other. Give your full attention and ask open ended questions about the art. This is great practice in speaking and verbally articulating ideas.
